Love Lance or hate him, you have to admire him for his dedication and focus. While he’s a lightning rod for controversy, he’s genererated a huge amount of interest and viewership to cycling with his return this year. This is good for the sport and good for his cause.

This is my favorite Lance quote. There’s a longer version of it as well. But this is short, sweet and to the point. And how true it is. Each of us can relate to it. I remind myself of this quote every single race, every single interval workout and every time I really have to suck it up and go.
This quote applies to any other sport as much as it applies to bike racing. And it applies to life as well.
Regardless of the circumstances, there are times when we want to give up, to quit, to pack it in. But we can’t, we must not.
So whatever obstacles you’re up against today, whatever stands in the way between you and your goals, keep pushing until you reach them. Don’t quit, for quitting lasts forever.

MY favorite lance quote I believe came out of of johan brunels book. He describes a stage in the tour where he is disguising how he feels up a mountain climb by hanging in the back of the group. I believe it was “the look” but after the fact he asks johan if he likes apples or something… he then says “how about them apples.” I got a kick out of that part of the book!
